ParkFest 17

 Saturday 23rd September 2017

Wow! Glorious sunshine for pretty much the whole of the day resulted in record crowds and a fantastic day on the park for vendors, visitors, musicians and the Friends of Leesland Park volunteers. Once again we (the FoLP) presented a programme that was a rich mix of live music, community stalls, children's entertainment and activities, art workshops and our very popular dog show 'Paws in the Park'. Opening the show Gosport's very own Big Noise Samba Band thrilled the crowd with their Latin rhythms perfectly complimenting the sunshine. An hour of music then from the students from St Vincent 6FC featuring in particular The White Cream Windows, follow by more student talent, this time from our friends at Motiv8. The students followed by the rather wonderful Jay Groovara, the amazing Kenny Alexander, Gosport rockers The Cavaliers, The Southbound Drifters and headliners Mista Messy,
A big thank you to Mike for looking after the stage/sound ably assisted by Cj, James and Alix.

For the second year running we employed Moo Music to bring some musical activities for the U5s while Motiv8, Y Services and Reilly Enterprises looked after the physical challenges and activities. The grown ups were looked after by a range of stalls encouraging some retail therapy and bargain hunting there was even an opportunity to learn how to liberate your furniture. To keep everyone fed and refreshed, ice-cream, crepes, burgers, tea and coffee were all available and lets not forget the Leesland Arms and the sterling work carried out by our bar team.

Pictures of the 2017 event will be added as I receive them here however, are a few to remind you of what a great day we all enjoyed on Saturday 23rd September.
