Welcome to the Friends of Leesland Park Website
For anyone who is not sure where to find the green and pleasant oasis that is Leesland Park, we would be hard pushed to beat the view from Google Earth. Somewhat less complicated would be to say that the park lies at the heart of Gosport's Leesland Ward with its boundaries formed by Whitworth Close, Daisy Lane, St Andrews/Kings Road, Toronto Place, and Cottage Grove.
Entrance to the park is available from several points around the parks perimeter with the main gateways at Daisy Lane, Lavinia Road and Cottage Grove. Access can also be made from the cycle path.
In the course of the parks regeneration, the Friends have tried to create areas of interest for all members of our community. Specialist zones include a sensory garden, community orchard, skatepark, children's play area and conservation meadow. Within these zones you will find a number of interesting and what we think are unique points of interest. For example in the sensory garden look out for the 'totem pole' markers and sundial (awaiting completion) along with our 'Green Man' sentinal. Over in the orchard you will find an interpretation board marking the start to Ruth's Trail.
Please now take the time to read other pages on our site which include a virtual walk around the site and details of our monthly workdays and annual festival. Before leaving the site, please bookmark us/add us to your favourite's and return to see what we are doing to further enhance the park and its facilities.
Most importantly though now that you know where we are come and pay a visit.
